Introduction 學系介紹

The department was established in the year 62 of the Republic of China in 1973 and expanded to a dual-class system in the academic year in 1987. Starting from the academic year in2009, the Institute of Digital Mechanical and Electrical Technology was integrated into the department, forming the Digital Mechanical and Electrical Master's Program. From the academic year in 2010 onwards, the department began admitting students for a 5-year integrated bachelor's and master's program.

Mechanical engineering, as the foundation of the industry, is the main focus of the department's comprehensive education framework, aiming to cultivate individuals equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in mechanical engineering within the context of holistic education provided by the university.

Teaching Characteristics 教學特色

Through the teaching of mechanical principles, knowledge, and technology, we aim to cultivate students' professional foundation. By incorporating computer-aided technology, experiments, and practical applications, we deepen students' understanding of theory and its applications. Our teaching integrates elements of fun, application, and challenges to stimulate students' creative potential. We encourage interdisciplinary development and encourage students to make use of the unique characteristics of our diverse departments, pursue minors and double degrees, and develop their abilities in cross-disciplinary integration.

The main goal is to cultivate students with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering theory. The teaching features include:

  1. Offering specialized courses in mechanical engineering to guide students in preparing for future academic pursuits and aligning with industry demands for employment.
  2. Collaborating with industry professionals to co-teach and promote certification examinations, providing hands-on experience through experimental courses, research projects, and practical training to enhance students' practical abilities.
  3. Arranging off-campus visits and facilitating student internships in companies to expose them to real-world situations in the industry.

The curriculum of our department comprises both required and elective courses, all organized around the three core specializations: Mechanical Design, Energy Technology, and Digital Mechatronics. This curriculum is designed to nurture individuals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of mechanical engineering.

For the Master's program, the key development areas are Intelligent Machinery and Mechatronics Integration. We have designed a diverse and rich selection of mandatory and elective courses to cultivate top-notch professionals in mechatronics integration and precision machinery. The core mandatory courses include:

    Applied Mechanics, Material Mechanics, Kinematics, Computer-Aided Engineering Drawing, Principles of Mechanical Design, Mechanical Materials, Factory Internship, Mechanical Materials Experiment

Cooperation Project 實習與產學合作

We arrange for students to participate in corporate internships as an elective course during the second semester of their senior year.
