The Department of Economics of the PCCU provides a lively academic environment that is internationally engaged, public-spirited, and with commitment to the study and understanding of economic phenomena. With a literature emphasis on theoretical analysis and empirical research, our department strives to provide students with a comprehensive education in the field of economics for both undergraduate and graduate educations.

Teaching Characteristics 教學特色

We offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs designed to help the students to navigate the complexities of the global economy. Through our courses, students can understand how the economy and market work and learn how to analyze real-world issues such as economic growth, inflation, unemployment, market functions, income inequality, trade policies, and industrial development.

• Undergraduate
  1. Required Courses: Basic Economics , Accountings , calculus , Microeconomic Analysis , Macroeconomic Analysis , Statistics , Public Economics , Monetary Economics , International Economics.
  2. Optional Courses : Four practice-oriented cohort courses including Finance、Data analysis、Policy analysis、Industrial Economics.
• Master degree
  1. Required Courses: Microeconomic Analysis , Macroeconomic Analysis, Econometrics, Seminar, Graduate Student Dissertation Workshop.
  2. Optional Courses : labor economics, industrial economics, financial economics, environmental economics, antitrust economics, energy and CGE economics, health economics, international economics.

Cooperation Project 實習與產學合作

Our program also encourages students to engage in independent research and participate in internships to gain valuable hands-on experience, such as intern working in the bank. We believe that these training may ensure students to develop critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
