In response to the rapid changes of global economic and business environments, Department of International Trade strives for training professionals for government, enterprises, and non-profit organizations, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the country.
Our undergraduate program consists of two professional modules: "International Trade and Economics" and "Cross-border E-commerce and Management.” Moreover, we provide students with the opportunity to participate in the "Five-Year Integrated Bachelor's and Master's Degree Program," which enables them to acquire both degrees in five years. This program aids students in accumulating "professional competence" and "academic ability."
Our department aims to cultivate foundational talents in international trade and cross-border e-commerce, who possess knowledge in international economics and trade, cross-border e-commerce, international marketing and management, and international finance, global perspectives, and proficiency in foreign languages.
To fulfill this goal, we have designed professional and practical curricula, which include internships, certification programs, and cross-border e-commerce competitions, all aimed at enhancing our graduates' readiness for the workplace. Additionally, we organize short-term overseas collaborative programs with renowned international universities, thereby facilitating student exchanges that enhance their international perspectives and proficiency in managing international affairs.
Except for the foundational courses of international trade and business-related field in the required courses list, Department of International Trade provides two elective professional modules: "International Trade and Economics" and "Cross-border E-commerce and Management."
The curriculum is designed to emphasize the integration of academic learning and practical experience to enrich students' professional knowledge across various fields. Our department also focuses on fostering a competence-oriented learning approach, establishing students' core abilities and thereby nurturing well-rounded professionals in international trade.
Continue to study: students can apply for a master's programs domestically and internationally in various fields related to international trade, international business management, marketing, e-commerce or other business-related disciplines.
Obtain employment: graduates from “International Trade and Economics” module can pursue various related career paths, such as Customs Compliance Specialist, Foreign Exchange Trader, Government Customs Officer, Shipping and Logistics Specialist, International Procurement Specialist, Warehouse and Distribution Manager, Trade Compliance Analyst, Trade-related Administrator, and so on. On the other hand, graduates from “Cross-border E-commerce and Management” module can also pursue various related career paths, such as International Marketing Specialist, Cross-border E-commerce Specialist, Event Marketing Coordinator, International Negotiation Specialist, Sales and Marketing Representative, Overseas Corporate Representative, and so on.
Department of International Trade offers various scholarships such as in participating academic or sports competitions, obtaining relevant certifications and so on. Besides, students can also apply to Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei (IEAT) for the scholarship which provides 10 available slots which provides a grant of NT$100,000 in total per recipient.
