Introduction 學系介紹

The Department of Tourism Management is the first tourism program in Taiwan, established to nurture students with a unique academic focus, integrated curriculum design, practical field visits for validation, and professional certification courses for skill enhancement. The program emphasizes preparation for employment and industry-academic collaboration, aligning with the nation's demand for tourism talent.

The department actively promotes professional certification exams, enabling students to obtain certifications before graduation to enhance their competitiveness in the tourism industry. Through a dual-track industry-academia system, students gain practical experience, build employment capital, strengthen ties with the industry, and reinforce a practical-oriented teaching approach.

A seamless employment-oriented talent cultivation program that ensures graduates are job-ready. Students gain early exposure to industry practices, enabling them to transition smoothly into the workforce immediately after graduation. Internship opportunities are available at renowned domestic and international companies such as China Airlines, EVA Air, Lion Travel, Shan Fu Travel, Regent Taipei, Din Tai Fung, Mandarin Oriental Taipei, and Prince Hotels in Japan, among others.

During their studies, students can participate in exchange programs at over 400 partner universities worldwide. Additionally, they have the opportunity to attend HTMi Switzerland Hotel Management School for exchange studies, including an internship in Switzerland.

Course Highlights 課程重點

The professional and focus courses:

  • Core Professional Courses:
    Tourism Studies, Tourism Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Service Management, Human Resource Management, Tourism Strategy Management and required courses.
  • Tourism and Hospitality Professional Elective Courses:
    Travel Itinerary Planning and Design, Travel Industry Marketing and Planning, Tour Guide and Leader Practices, Introduction to Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, and Food Service Operations and Practices.
  • Language Courses:
    Tourism English or Tourism Japanese.

Future 未來發展

  • Further Education:
    Graduates can apply for or take entrance exams for master's programs in tourism, hospitality, leisure and recreation, or business management fields, both domestically and internationally.
  • Employment Opportunities:
    Graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers in tourism-related industries such as hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, leisure services, and airline services. They may also apply for various business management roles in other organizations or institutions. Additionally, they can consider civil service or teaching positions.

Scholarships 獎學金

  • Dr. Chang Chi-Yun Founder's Memorial Tourism Scholarship:
    Awarded to 4 students annually, with one student selected per grade level in principle. Each recipient receives NT$10,000.
  • Professor Chi-Jang Tourism Scholarship:
    Awarded to 4 students annually, with one student selected per grade level in principle. Each recipient receives NT$8,000.
  • Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank Cultural and Educational Foundation Scholarship:
    Awarded to 2 students annually, each receiving NT$30,000.

Cooperation Project 實習與產學合作

  • Summer Internship Opportunities:
    Nearly 50 companies offer summer internships to students each year. These include renowned organizations such as Mandarin Regent Taipei, Oriental Taipei, Cola Tour, ezTravel, Ever Fun Travel, Howard Beach Resort Kenting, and Caesar Park Hotel Kenting.
  • Industry-Academia Collaboration:
    The department maintains long-standing partnerships with well-known companies, including China Airlines, EVA Air, Shan Fu Travel, Regent Taipei, and Din Tai Fung.
