The Department of Counseling Psychology was established in 2003, offering undergraduate and graduate programs. Our department is renowned for its practice-oriented curriculum. The goal of the undergraduate program is to establish a solid theoretical foundation in psychology and counseling while assisting students in applying these theories to various fields, including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, couple and family therapy, psycho-oncology, gestalt therapy, career counseling, employee assistance programs (EAP), medical counseling, and restorative justice.
The graduate program aims to train students to become qualified counseling psychologists. Graduate students are required to engage in in-depth studies of various counseling theories and complete practicums and internships in diverse professional fields to meet the requirements for licensure as counseling psychologists.
Our curriculum is designed to balance both the theoretical and practical aspects of counseling psychology. The structure includes research methodology, foundational courses in psychology, counseling theories, specialized application fields, and practical training.
