Introduction 學系介紹

This department was founded in 1972. With the efforts of previous and current department heads and professors, it has become a distinctive electrical engineering department. The main purpose of this department is to teach students the professional knowledge of electrical engineering and to cultivate national talents. In addition to imparting academic knowledge, it also attaches great importance to practical training.

In recent years, in addition to passing the evaluation of the "Higher Education Evaluation Center" in 2007. This department had also been recognized and approved by the IEET accreditation EAC in 2010,2013, 2016 and 2019. Our achievements are well known from various aspects.

Teaching Characteristics 教學特色

The Department focuses on teaching, supplemented by research, and is committed to cultivating students to become talents in telecommunications, electronics, control, and computer engineering. The teaching of this department has the following characteristics:

1. Perfect curriculum planning provides students with a specialized study direction.
2. Complete course diversion measures provide students with smooth channels for further studies or employment.
3. Market-oriented course planning, course content based on the latest technological developments.
4. Through the IEET engineering and technology education accreditation, it provides the academic certification required for students to study or work in various countries around the world.
5. The perfect English tutoring mechanism enables students to have sufficient English skills to meet the needs of further studies or employment.

Course Highlights 課程重點

The Department has elective courses in three study groups, namely Telecommunications, Electronics and Control, and Computer Science. Courses from other colleges and interdisciplinary study groups offered by external departments are also optional. The three clusters of the department are:

1. Telecommunications Group: Cultivate talents in communication, electric wave and photoelectric signal processing. Such as: computer network, communication system, electromagnetic wave, digital image processing, photoelectric engineering and other courses.
2. Electronics and Control Group: To cultivate talents in IC design, semiconductor, biomedical electronics and control applications. Such as: control system, analog integrated circuit, CMOS integrated circuit, semiconductor engineering and other courses.
3. Computer Engineering Group: Cultivate talents in the design and application of computer software and hardware. Such as: object-oriented language, data structure, massive data analysis, machine learning, Java programming language, microprocessors, single-chip system design, computer architecture and other courses.

Future 未來發展

The Department has elective courses for three groups, namely Telecommunications, Electronics and Control, and Computer Science

1. Graduate study: apply for domestic research institutes or study abroad. The enrollment rate of this department is excellent. Every year, about one-third of the graduates are admitted to graduate schools for further study, and the ratio of national universities accounts for more than 80%.
2. Employment: After graduation, some students who participated in industrial internships will stay in the original internship company or find a company that is more suitable for them. Students who did not participate in the internship can also work in other high-tech or traditional industries as they wish, such as TSMC, Delta, Hon Hai, Global Unichip , Quanta, ASUS, Wistron, ASML and other well-known listed companies.

• Hwa-Kang Scholarship (6 students per academic year, NT$8,000 each)
• Underprivileged bursaries (12 students per academic year, NT$6,000 each)
