Practice sustainability, innovate for shared prosperity Our goal is to nurture talents in teaching, research, and entrepreneurship, focusing on the improvement, production, application, and demonstration of horticultural crops including fruits, vegetables, and flowers. We emphasize practical training in field horticultural science, leveraging the local resources of Yangmingshan while addressing the demands of urban horticulture.

Through the integration of biotechnology innovation and educational outreach, we aim to comprehensively enhance students' competitiveness in horticultural research, industrial development, and interdisciplinary expertise.

Professional Innovation · Integration of Learning and Application

  1. In response to the advancement of smart technology and the goal of advancing Taiwan's agriculture into the 4.0 era, dedicated teaching and research courses like "Smart Crop Production" and "Sustainable Agricultural Development" have been established.
By embracing the principles of "Professional Innovation" and "Integration of Learning and Application," these efforts aim to inspire students' learning motivation and self-fulfillment while strengthening their professional expertise and research abilities, thereby building a strong foundation for the diverse growth of industry, academia, and research.

  1. Required Horticulture Courses:
    Horticulture, Statistics, Plant Physiology, Pomology, Biochemistry, Olericulture, Floriculture, Postharvest Handling of Horticultural Products, Processing of Horticultural Products, Landscape Architecture, Genetics, Breeding of Horticultural Crops, Organic Agriculture, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Plant Genetic Transformation and Seminar.
  2. Elective Courses in Crop Science:
    Contemporary Horticultural Issues, Introduction to Plant Science, Taxonomy of Horticultural Crops, Practical Plant Diagnosis, Ornamental Tree Science, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants, Plant Propagation, Horticultural production under structure, Soil and Plant Nutrition, Advanced Floriculture, Garden Design, Urban Horticulture, Horticultural Business Management and Agricultural Carbon Sequestration Practices.
  3. Elective Courses in Biotechnology:
    Introduction to Biotechnology, Microbiology, Plant Tissue Culture, Plant Growth and Differentiation, Plant Gene Regulation, Introduction to Bioinformatics, Crop Production Scheduling of Horticultural Crops, Utilization of Biodiversity and Core Experiments in Biotechnology.

Scholarships 獎學金

  1. The scholarship from Known-You Social Welfare Foundation: 3 students per semester, and 10,000 NT dollars each student.
  2. Qing-Nong Scholarship: allowance for foreign language qualification exams, the scholarship for passing the civil service examinations and horticultural technologist examinations, and rewards for research publications. 80,000 NT dollars per year in total.
  3. New Student Admission and International Learning Scholarships: New Student Admission Scholarship, NT$10,000 each student. International Learning Scholarship, NT$5,000 per instance.

Cooperation Project 實習與產學合作

  1. During the summer vacation, students may intern at government agricultural or public agencies, as well as private enterprises and industries approved by the department. This allows them to gain firsthand understanding of research and development at experimental institutions and the practical operations of industry promotion. By grasping industry trends, students can apply what they have learned, enhance their learning effectiveness, and solidify their theoretical foundation.
  2. During summer work-study programs, students can connect learning with application by working at private enterprises such as Daqiao Tree Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd., Jingge Greening Engineering Co., Ltd., Huicui Horticultural Landscape Co., Ltd., Junrong Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd., Qingnong Seedling Company, and others.
