The department focuses on nurturing outstanding talents in "nature education" and "ecological conservation." Students are equipped with interdisciplinary knowledge and diverse professional development opportunities, enabling them to contribute to areas such as the green economy, forest carbon sequestration, ecosystem services, and biodiversity conservation in the future.

The department's teaching approach emphasizes a balanced integration of theory and practice, with a particular focus on "learning by doing." A variety of experimental and internship courses are offered to equip students with hands-on skills in experimental operations and field investigations. Additionally, the department provides specialized courses aligned with social development trends.

These include topics such as tree climbing, arboriculture, the beekeeping industry, forest beekeeping, forest recreation and therapy, forest biotechnology, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and corporate sustainability. Practical courses also address contemporary issues like ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), forest carbon sequestration, and achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

  • Forest and Natural Education
    This category includes courses on natural resources, environmental ethics, tree climbing, experimental design, biological data analysis, nursery e-production and management, natural resource economics, environmental education teaching materials and methods, arboriculture, environmental education, enterprise sustainable development (ESG), forest carbon sequestration, and more.
  • Ecological Conservation of Animals and Plants
    This area integrates human ecology and natural interpretation, covering topics such as conservation biology, forest biotechnology, forest biotechnology internships, the beekeeping industry, beekeeping industry internships, forest beekeeping practices, animal behavior, flora survey and analysis internships, wetland conservation and management, understory economic plants and internships, protected area management, natural resource conservation, and ornamental dendrology.

  • Certificates
    The department's professional courses prepare students to obtain various forestry-related certifications, such as forestry technicians, arborists, and tree climbers. Students who complete the core environmental education courses can directly qualify as environmental education personnel. Additionally, certifications in areas like carbon inventory and ESG sustainable management are also available.

    1. Civil Service
      Positions in forestry and nature conservation through civil service examinations, including forestry technology, nature conservation, and biodiversity.

      Opportunities in net-zero emissions and forest carbon sequestration, geographic information systems (GIS), tree nursery management, green landscaping design, wood import/export, wood design and processing, tree pruning and protection, and the paper industry.

    One student is recommended per academic year, with each receiving a scholarship of NT$20,000.

    One student is recommended per academic year, with each receiving a scholarship of NT$20,000.

    One student is recommended per academic year, with each receiving a scholarship of NT$8,000.

    Applications are recommended each semester based on the student's performance.
