Department of Family Science

Department of Applied Science of Living

Starting with family, we can understand life and cultivate the ability to face the future.

Department Introduction

Family Science focuses on the interaction between people, families, and life, cultivating professionals who can respond to the needs of modern society. This department references the development framework of the International Family and Consumer Science (FCS), integrating aspects such as personal development, family support, and practical applications, emphasizing the application of knowledge to real-life and social situations.

In response to an aging population, declining birth rate, and changing lifestyles, our department emphasizes cultivating students' practical life skills and interdisciplinary integration abilities. Through their studies, students not only build professional knowledge but also gradually gain self-awareness, understand others, and develop practical application skills to address family and life issues.

Three main learning axes

  • Family Relationships and Educational Practices: Based on human development, marriage and family, and parenting education, this program cultivates the ability to understand family interactions and educational practices.

  • Lifestyle Decision Making and Industry Application: Combining lifestyle management, dining, leisure planning, and lifestyle aesthetics, this program cultivates life planning and industry application skills.
