Founded on the principle that “the foundation of life lies in health, and the foundation of health lies in nutrition,” the Department emphasizes the essential role of nutrition and health in human life. Our mission is to equip students with knowledge in nutrition and dietary science, cultivating professionals in areas such as diet therapy, long-term care, sports nutrition, restaurant management, and group meal services. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in nutrition and health promotion, contributing to advancements in public health.
Teaching Characteristics 教學特色
Our curriculum integrates courses in nutrition science, food science, and sports nutrition to provide students with interdisciplinary expertise. Graduates are eligible to sit for licensing exams as dietitians, food technologists, or other certifications related to food, nutrition, and health promotion.
Students can also broaden their learning through elective courses offered by other departments, leveraging the diverse resources of our comprehensive university. Compared to similar programs, our department stands out for its unique educational objectives and abundant academic resources.
Course Highlights 課程重點
Our program emphasizes a strong foundation in health and nutrition, coupled with practical training. The off-campus internship program enhances hands-on experience for aspiring dietitians. Courses in sports nutrition focus on developing health promotion skills, while food science courses and research projects empower students to apply food science to health and nutrition, increasing their employability.

- Dietitian Track
- Meal planning, group meal preparation, nutritional assessment, clinical case studies, nutrition education and counseling, clinical testing and analysis, dietary management, community nutrition, and more.
- Long-Term Care Track
- Public health nutrition practice, geriatric nutrition, cancer nutrition, and nutrition education and counseling.
- Sports Nutrition Track
- Sports nutrition principles and applications, geriatric nutrition and exercise planning, weight management, development of sports health supplements, and more.
- Health Food Technology Track
- Food chemistry, food analysis, food processing, functional foods, health efficacy evaluation, food safety regulations, and food factory management.

- Dietitians
- Work in hospitals, clinics, schools, catering companies, health bureaus, long-term care facilities, airline catering, hotels, fitness centers, community health centers, and national sports training facilities.
- Food Technologists
- Opportunities in central kitchens, packaged meal manufacturers, seafood/dairy/meat processing plants, hotels, and chain restaurants.
- Health Food Professionals
- Roles include health food consultants, R&D personnel in nutrition or biotechnology, health product promoters, and food engineers.
- Other Careers
- Positions in quality control, R&D in food factories, health management, airline catering QA, nutrition consultation, and laboratory analysis.
Scholarships 獎學金
- Scholarship of NT$5,000 will be rewarded to the graduates who pass Dietitians /Food Technician in the National Examination- Professional and Technical Personnel Advanced Examinations within one year after graduation.
- Scholarship of NT$1,000 will be rewarded to the students who pass the National Technician Skills Certification - Level C Professional Examination within undergraduate.
- The corresponding scholarship will be rewarded to the students who have the rewards or excellent performances in the national or international competitions including contests of creative works in specific topics, contests related to invention, design, and drawing, and college-indicated competitions.
